Look What We Did Today!

Since both of the cards we did today had something on the inside I have combined them each into one picture so you could easily see the outside and the inside of them.  Both of these cards I cased but I also added a little of my own twist to it so they are not exact copies.
This was one of the two projects we did today.  I cased this one from Amy Koenders.  Unfortunately the butterfly thinlit is unavailable to order at this time due to shipping problems.  Hopefully things will resolve and they will become available.  I used the Irresistably Yours Designer series Paper (A Sale-A-Bration item you can gt for FREE) and sponged it with 4 different colors starting at the bottom from darkest to lightest.  Then wiped it to bring the leaves back to white.  There are so many ways to use this paper.  You can spritz it, brayer and also sponge it for color like I did.  It was a lot of fun to play with! I am excited about the possibilities.  The butterfly on the inside of the card I stamped with Pool Party and then punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch.

Hint: For using some of the thinlits which are intricate like this one. You need non-scented dryer sheets.  Take 4 of them and open them up and lay them on top of each other.  When all 4 are laid out fold them in half.  Depending on your Big Shot you might need to adjust but 4 worked for me.  You don't want it to cut through the dryer sheets. To cut out the butterfly make your sandwich as follows. Between the 2 clear plates you start with the dryer sheets, paper, and lastly the thinlit.  I would run it through twice, backwards and forwards.  When you take it out the thinlit should come right off leaving your cut out butterfly on the dryer sheets.  Pick up one edge and gently peel off.  All the pieces which normally you would have to pick out should stay on the dryer sheets.  You can use the same dryer sheets over and over again. overlapping the paper remnants from prior times.

Supplies: Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White cardstock;Irresistibly Yours and Subtles Designer Series Paper; Papillon Potpourri Stamp set, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabanna, Pool Party, Soft Sky ink; and Elegant Butterfly punch.
This was our second project and I cased it from Dawn Olchefske. It was a lot of fun to make.  I love this stamp set and the so many possibilities it has.  I have more men in my family than girls so I am always looking for a great manly card.  I think this fits the bill but I would have no problem getting this card.

Supplies: Soft Suede and Very Vanilla cardstock; Work of Art and Sassy Salutations Stamp Set; Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Pool Party, Early Espresso and Tangelo Twist ink; Early Espresso Marker, Chevron Embossing Folder; sponge, 1" circle punch, and Distress Tool.

Finally Time to Share Some Projects!

Let me begin with an apology of being away for so long.  Sometimes life can give us things which make our worlds a little crazy now and then.  This has been the case for me.  Unfortunately my in-laws have had some very serious health issues since September of last year.  There were 3 separate times and each one involved a possibility of losing one of them.  I have to say we have been blessed and spent some good quality time together.  But with the last one my father-in-law did pass away.  He was a good man and a great example to me and our family and I am grateful to know I will see him again.  But needless to say some things were put on hold for awhile.

But things are starting to return to a new normal and I am ready to share with you our last project we did in February.  I will post other pictures of past projects in future posts to catch you up on some of what we have been doing.

I thought I would show you the outside and the inside of this fun card.  Don't you love the Designer Series Paper!

I cased this from Teri Pocock.  Thank you Teri! It was a lot of fun to make.  When you use the Bow punch builder you need to punch out your paper twice to have all the pieces you need to put your bow together.  I used a bone folder to curl each loop of my bow closing with a mini glue dot.

Supplies:  Naturals White and Black cardstock, Black to Black Designer Series Paper; Pearl jewels, Bow punch builder, Sassy Salutaions Stamp set, mini glue dots, bone, folder, and Black Momento ink.

This was another fun one to do!  Doesn't it make you just want to celebrate!  I cased this one from Patty Bennett.

This card gives you another way to use your Photopolymer stamp sets.  The Tempting Turquoise background was done by using the reverse side of the saying.  Afterwards I just cleaned it off and turned it over to stamp the saying in Momento Black.

Supplies: Pumpkin Pie and White cardstock, Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Black Momento ink, Balloon Bash Stamp Set, Tombow glue, In Color sequins, Pumpkin Pie marker and dimensionals.

I hope this puts in the mood to play and experiment.  Have fun playing!  I did!  Sorry the pictures are so funny.  It just isn't cooperating and I wanted to get it posted instead of wasting time playing with them.  Hopefully the next post will be better.
